This is the energy company's first placement of green bonds in the international market to finance renewable energy and storage projects.

ENGIE Chile announced a new step in its energy transition process. Through an essential fact sent to the Financial Market Commission (CMF), the company announced the placement of green bonds in the international market for US$ 500 million.

The bonds have a term of 10 years and a coupon rate of 6.375%. Interest will be paid semiannually, beginning on October 17, 2024 and the capital will be amortized in a single final installment, on April 17, 2034.

“This placement allows us to continue financing CAPEX of renewable energy projects and new technologies, such as storage systems, as well as balance our financing structure by extending the average term of our debt,” explained Eduardo Milligan, CFO of ENGIE Chile .
