New research from Linio revealed the average prices of different types of devices in six Latin American nations.

The article sales platform Linio recently presented the 2018 Technology Price Index , a study in which the average price of 11 technological categories in the region was calculated. The analysis also delves into key products and countries where the purchase of technology is a growing e-commerce trend.

The analysis includes six countries in Latin America , and within its categories there are equipment such as smartphones, computers with Windows and Mac systems, video game consoles, in & over ear headphones, reflex and sports cameras, drones, smartwatches and 32-inch Smart TVs. inches.

In this way, according to the data, the regional average price of a technological product is US$596.64 . At the country level, the cheapest country to purchase the devices is Mexico and the most expensive is Chile , with an average price per product of US$526.68 USD and US$662 USD respectively. According to the study, the five cheapest products at the regional level are in-ear headphones (US$26.77), over-ear headphones (US$65.35), generic smartwatches (US$43.39), sports cameras (US$202.93) and finally, 32-inch Smart TVs (US$278.93).

Meanwhile, the five most expensive devices are computers with the Mac operating system (US$2,084.32), SLR cameras (US$1,248.70), smartphones (US$1,221.54), computers with the Windows operating system (US$767.56), and game consoles. video games (US$482.97)

Equipment comparison

The study also analyzed the average price of 23 specific products in three categories: smartphones , video game consoles and SLR cameras . Among the results, it stands out that the average price of iPhone smartphones is more than double that of those with an Android system , while the cheapest consoles are from Nintendo (US$ 369.46) and the most expensive are from Xbox (US$ 577.66). Third, the research reveals that the regional average price of a SLR camera is US$1,110.47 USD. However, the average for the Nikon brand is one hundred dollars less and the Canon brand is $200 more than the average.

As for SLR cameras, the one with the lowest price is the Nikon D3400 ($717.07 USD) and the one with the highest price is the Canon 80D ($1688.09 USD).

What are the most expensive countries?

Finally, the research analyzed the average price of 8 popular gadgets in 11 countries globally. Within this list, Australia and Argentina are the most expensive countries to purchase gadgets. In these nations, their citizens spend an average of US$1,081 USD and US$1,036 respectively per technological product. While the cheapest countries are Canada , with an average price per product of US$558 and the United States with US$622. Right in the middle is Peru with an average price per item of US$768.

As for equipment, the iPhone X is the most expensive gadget (US$1,352.14) and the Go Pro Hero 5 sports camera is the cheapest (US$376.18 USD). In this comparison, smartphones are, in general, the gadgets with the highest price and video game consoles the lowest.

In this way, the study reveals that Latin American countries are close to the international average , Canada, the United States of America, Spain and Great Britain are below and Australia and Argentina above.
