The new date for the strike is next October 8, and they stressed that they will remain firm in their attempt to improve their working conditions and salaries.

The Aviation Pilots' Union (ASPA) has decided to extend the strike notice until October 8, giving a respite to Aeromexico, which has submitted two proposals that have been rejected by more than 80% of the pilots' votes.

Minutes before midnight, the pilots reported that "they made the decision to extend the strike, given that a satisfactory agreement was not reached with the airline, but with the intention of not going on strike and affecting thousands of passengers and even the protocolary acts of the inauguration of the president-elect, Claudia Sheinbaum."

The new strike date is October 8, and they stressed that they will remain firm in their attempt to improve their working conditions and salaries, "however, we remain open to dialogue and negotiation with the company, provided that it recognizes the fair value of its pilots."

They also acknowledged the work of the labor authorities who have intervened in this process and thanked the support of national and international unions who have backed them in this fight, "as well as the displays of empathy and understanding from our passengers, to whom we reiterate our commitment to their safety on each flight."
