The highland country is participating in the Forum of Gas Exporting Countries and it is expected that this Saturday President Luis Arce will meet with the heads of state members of the organization.

The Ministries of Hydrocarbons and the state oil companies of Bolivia and Algeria will sign institutional agreements this Saturday that will allow the exchange of experiences in hydrocarbon matters.

The Bolivian Minister of Hydrocarbons and Energy, Franklin Molina, explained that these agreements will be made taking advantage of Bolivia's participation in the Forum of Gas Exporting Countries (FPEG) that is held in Algiers, capital of Algeria.

There will be “the signing of two important agreements, memoranda of understanding; one between the state companies Sonatrach of Algeria and YPFB of Bolivia and the institutions, in this case both ministries, for development and everything that the exchange of experiences means,” said Molina.

The National Society for Research, Production, Transport, Transformation, and Marketing of Hydrocarbons (Sonatrach) is an Algerian company established to exploit the hydrocarbons of that country.

Sonatrach is the largest company in Algeria and the eleventh largest oil consortium in the world.

Algeria's state oil company announced in April last year the discovery of six new oil and gas fields that could produce more than 1.5 million cubic meters of gas.

Molina affirmed that these agreements that will be signed between Algeria and Bolivia will allow for deepening bilateral cooperation between both countries.

He also reported that President Luis Arce will hold a meeting of heads of state this Saturday at the Forum of Gas Exporting Countries.

These agreements will be added to the one made between Yacimientos de Litio Bolivianos (YLB) and the Bureau de Recherches Géologiques et Minières (BRGM) of France, which on Thursday signed a memorandum of understanding for the study of hydrogeological resources in the salt flats of Bolivia.

According to a report from the Ministry of Hydrocarbons, the memorandum aims to establish the bases on which the parties will work together; and they will plan the project related to the study of hydrogeological resources in the country's salt flats.
