The Brazilian brewer Ambev has fallen more than 7% in the early stages of the stock market session this Thursday after reporting that it obtained an attributable net profit of 14,501 million Brazilian reals (US$ 2,929 million) in 2023, which represents an increase 0.3% compared to the profits of the previous year, as reported by the company this Thursday.

In addition, net sales remained stable in relation to 2022. Specifically, Ambev had a turnover of 79,708 million reais (US$ 16,103 million). For their part, costs fell 2.8% year-on-year, to 39,291 million Brazilian reals (US$ 7,937 million).

However, Ambev shares fell on the Sao Paulo Stock Exchange this Wednesday, trading at a price of 12.50 Brazilian reals (US$2.52), which represents a drop of 7.06% compared to the previous day. .

In terms of volume, Ambev has highlighted that it has achieved record figures, with a stable market share and that it has been aligned with its estimates.

By markets, turnover grew by 6% in Brazil in 2023 compared to revenue in 2022 and by 3.3% in Central America, while it experienced declines in the rest of the regions in which the company operates. Thus, sales contracted 10.5% year-on-year in Canada, and 68.8% in Latin America.

Meanwhile, the gross operating result (Ebitda) stood at 25,455 million Brazilian reals (US$ 5,142 million), 7.1% of the figure reached in 2022. The Ebitda margin climbed 2.1 percentage points , reaching 31.9%.

Despite the challenges that arise for 2024, mainly in markets such as Argentina or Brazil, the company maintains its objective of continuing to work to achieve another year of growth in net income and Ebitda.
