Concessionaires of provincial airports in Peru will invest more than US$ 107 million in 2024

Lima Airport Partners highlighted the recovery of passenger traffic in 2023.

The concessionaires of Peru's provincial airports informed the Supervisory Body for Investment in Public Transport Infrastructure (Ositrán) that this year they will invest more than US$ 107 million in improving airport infrastructure and quality of service for users.

Aeropuertos del Perú (AdP), in charge of the First Group of Provincial Airports, reported that it plans to transport 7.5 million passengers this year, in addition to executing investments close to US$ 107.6 million, among which US$ 45, 3 million correspond to investments in periodic preventive maintenance activities.

AdP representatives highlighted that they will continue with the automation of processes that require control and monitoring points to allow better management in the administration of its 12 airports; and the acquisition of equipment intended to improve the quality of the service provided to its users.

For its part, the concessionaire Aeropuertos Andinos del Perú (AAP), in charge of the Second Group of Provincial Airports, plans to invest more than 29,585 soles (US$ 7,938) in civil works and equipment.

Its main investments will fall on the execution of the remodeling and expansion of the passenger terminal of the Arequipa Airport, the preparation of volume II of the Definitive Engineering Study (EDI) of the New Work “Rehabilitation of the Air Side of the Juliaca Airport, the optimization The perimeter and operational fencing of the five headquarters, and the optimizations of the passenger terminals of the Tacna, Puerto Maldonado and Juliaca airports will depend on the approval of their respective EDIs by the Grantor.

He specified that events such as the APEC Forum and the Bolivarian Games, planned for the coming months, will allow the flow of passengers registered at its airports to exceed by 14% in 2023, going from 3.6 million to 4 million.

LAP SET UP NEW TERMINAL

On the other hand, Lima Airport Partners (LAP), concessionaire of the Jorge Chávez International Airport (AIJC), reported that in 2023 it carried out US$ 26 million 168,849 in important works such as the renewal of the baggage inspection system, improvements and expansion of bathrooms, pavement rehabilitation of Alfa taxiway and Alfa street extension, among others.

In addition, he highlighted that it is less than 22% away from matching the international passenger traffic recorded pre-pandemic (2019) and 1% compared to domestic passengers.

Regarding the new passenger terminal, it hopes to hand over 70% of the commercial areas to tenants, complete the tests with passengers on check-in islands, complete the installation of boarding gates (46 gates in total) and all the boarding platforms. aircraft.

Regarding the situation of the Santa Rosa bridge, the only access to the new terminal, LAP reported that it built the connection structure within the concession lands and provided technical support for the search and implementation of complementary accesses.
