Income from Paraguayan meat shipments continues to grow and contribute significantly to the economy, according to the latest report from the National Animal Health and Quality Service (Senacsa) for the month of September.
As of last September, the export of different types of meat, offal and offal from Paraguay to different markets around the world totaled US$ 1,687 million, equivalent to 562,069,810 kilograms, according to a report for the ninth month of 2024.
The report highlights that beef represents the highest value and as of last September, Paraguay exported a total of 250,261,714 kilos of beef to at least 50 countries. The sale of this product brought in US$ 1,217,595,795 in foreign currency to the country from January 1 to September 30 of this year.
According to the Senacsa report, Chile remains the largest buyer of Paraguayan beef, with 40% of the total, equivalent to 93,831,118 kilos worth US$ 483,729,908. It is followed by Taiwan with 26,796,454 kilos worth US$ 127,543,951, and Brazil, with 19,596,810 kilos equivalent to US$ 110,995,421, are also among the top countries that receive the most Paraguayan beef.
Israel tops the list of largest buyers with 20,863,411 kilos worth US$ 109,176,019, while the United States is in fifth place, just 10 months after the first shipment to that country, with 15,982,437 kilos worth US$ 74,279,914.

Regarding exports of bovine offal, Senacsa reports that at least 38,412,639 kilos of these products were sent to some 48 countries, generating a movement of US$ 61,551,750.
As for the largest buyers of this category of offal, the Senacsa report highlights that Russia, with
9,973,408 kilos, leads the list of countries that receive the most bovine offal from Paraguay; the shipment to this country generated around US$ 17,139,600. Egypt with 5,011,299 kilos worth US$ 6,111,881, and Taiwan, with 1,693,312 kilos for US$ 5,444,105, remain on the list of the largest importers of this Paraguayan production.
Vietnam, Chile and Gabon are also on the list. As for the pork species, Senacsa reports that the main destination for this Paraguayan production is Taiwan, which has received 6,572,582 kilos so far. This list is followed by Uruguay, with 1,338,089 kilos, and Georgia, with 168,015 kilos.
According to the Senacsa report, Paraguay managed to export some 8,124,996 kilos of pork products this year, generating an income of US$ 23,067,268.
