Peruvian Gloria Foods buys the dairy and juice businesses of Nestlé Ecuador

It should be noted that the closing of the acquisition must be approved by the Superintendency of Economic Competition of Ecuador in the times and manner determined by law.

The Peruvian dairy multinational Gloria Foods has signed a share purchase agreement with Nestlé and Societé des Produits Nestlé through which it acquired the operation of the dairy and juice businesses in Ecuador corresponding to 100% of Ecuajugos.

“This important acquisition responds to our objective of strengthening the presence of the holding company in the Ecuadorian market and the region, with the understanding that the transaction of this operation, in addition to the Ecuajugos factory and distribution center located in Cayambe, includes the purchase from local brands: La Vaquita, Yogu Yogu, Natura, Cereavena and Huesitos; and the licensing for Ecuador of the global brands La Lechera and Svelty.

"We enthusiastically welcome the excellent human team and the important brands that the acquisition brings with it, and we are certain that this transaction will strengthen our regional platform in Latin America, as well as allow us to continue bringing our quality and experience to the countries where we are present," mentioned Claudio Rodriguez, president of Gloria Foods.
